The chat completion model, driven by an LLM, generates contextually relevant and coherent responses

Input

Prompt:

Press Ctrl + Enter to submit
The maximum number of tokens to generate. Shorter token lengths will provide faster performance.
A decimal number that determines the degree of randomness in the response
The top_k parameter is used to limit the number of choices for the next predicted word or token.

Introduction

Claude is a large language model (LLM) built by Anthropic. It's trained to be a helpful assistant in a conversational tone.

Claude can perform many kinds of text processing tasks such as:

  • Summarization
  • Editing and rewriting
  • Sentiment recognition
  • Information extraction and removal
  • Translation

Model

Claude-instant is a smaller model compared to claude v1, but more than adequate performance on a range of tasks including text classification, summarization, and lightweight chat applications, as well as search result summarization.

Examples

Content Generation

Prompt:
I'd like you to rewrite the following paragraph using the following instructions: "less detail".
"In 1758, the Swedish botanist and zoologist Carl Linnaeus published in his
Systema Naturae, the two-word naming of species (binomial nomenclature).
Canis is the Latin word meaning "dog", and under this genus, he listed the
domestic dog, the wolf, and the golden jackal."

Sample Response:
Here is the paragraph rewritten with less detail:
"In the 18th century, Linnaeus published binomial nomenclature. Under the genus Canis meaning "dog", he listed the dog, wolf and jackal."

Summarize

Prompt:
Summarize this,

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest in the Solar System. It is a
gas giant with a mass one-thousandth that of the Sun, but two-and-a-half times
that of all the other planets in the Solar System combined. Jupiter is one of the
brightest objects visible to the naked eye in the night sky, and has been known to
ancient civilizations since before recorded history. It is named after the Roman
god Jupiter.[19] When viewed from Earth, Jupiter can be bright enough for its
reflected light to cast visible shadows,[20] and is on average the third-brightest
natural object in the night sky after the Moon and Venus.

Sample Response:
 Here is a summary:

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest planet in the Solar System. It is a massive gas giant, twice as massive as all the other planets combined. It is
the brightest object in the night sky, visible to the naked eye since ancient times. It is named after the Roman god Jupiter.
When viewed from Earth, Jupiter's light is so bright that it can cast shadows, making it on average the third brightest
object in the sky after the Moon and Venus.
